Como Hive Builder, si es que puedo adjudicarme tal titulo, es obvio que me apasiona Hive, y vivo en una constante reflexión sobre Hive desde la filosofía y hay una idea que revolotea mi mente y no puedo quedarme tranquilo hasta poder expresarla. Así que intentaré exponer un aspecto filosófico de Hive.

Como bien sabemos Hive es un protocolo blockchain que responde a la filosofía de web3, es decir, es una red descentralizada y de código abierto, y por supuesto resistente a la censura. Ahora bien para no caer en demasiados tecnicismos que quizá no vienen al caso en resumen y filosóficamente hablando, Web3 es un modo de entender lo digital de un modo totalmente diferente ya que no hay compañías de Big Tech detrás.

Pero, no viene al caso definir web3, eso es algo que ya podemos mirar en muchos artículos en internet. Hoy en cambio quiero hablar de una característica de Hive que me parece valiosísima, y precisamente a eso remite el titulo de este artículo:

PODER QUE DA PODER

Quizá como yo lo primero que has conocido de Hive es su ecosistema de redes sociales, bien sabemos que por la interacción en estas RRSS sociales existe la posibilidad de ser incentivado con Hive y HBD por medio de los likes o “me gustas” que recibimos en las publicaciones y comentarios.

Lo primero que se puede pensar es que como en otras redes sociales los likes representan el valor de la publicación, pero, es que los likes no son otra cosa que una medida de navidad, ahora bien, en Hive, los likes no solo son medida de vanidad, sino que además poseen un valor monetario ya que gracias al protocolo de fondo social o piscina de recompensas es posible dar valor. Pero, la cosa es mucho más compleja.

Los “me gusta” no implican necesariamente cuan exitosa es una publicación, ni los me gustan están necesariamente relacionados de manera estrecha y proporcional a la calidad del contenido aunque claro que es un factor determinante. Mayor calidad, más posibilidades de ser incentivado. Ahora bien, recuerda que el ADN de Hive es el protocolo DPOs o Prueba de participación delegada, protocolo que nos permite tomar de la piscina de recompensas Hive y HBD para dar a otros. A mayor stake, mayor la capacidad de poder incentivar.

Es por ello que, hay que ser cuidadoso y mirar no solo a quien se le otorga influencia sino que además cuanta influencia estamos dispuestos a dar a tal o cual autor.

Es por tal razón que en Hive, hablamos de poder que da poder, cosa que me parece asombrosa y profundamente innovador, si entendemos a Hive como un país, cada persona con una billetera es un ciudadano y que cada ciudadano posee la capacidad de influir en la política del país, y que además puede otorgar capacidad de influencia a otros. Filosóficamente es algo que me llama mucho la atención y que día con día intento adentrarme más en la filosofía de Hive en sentido estricto. Así que la próxima vez que des un me gusta en cualquier DApp en Hive, piensa que estas otorgando poder.

So I will try to expose a philosophical aspect of Hive.

As we well know Hive is a blockchain protocol that responds to the web3 philosophy, that is, it is a decentralized and open source network, and of course resistant to censorship. Now, in order not to fall into too many technicalities that may not be relevant in summary and philosophically speaking, Web3 is a way of understanding the digital in a totally different way since there are no Big Tech companies behind it.

But, it is not the case to define web3, that is something that we can already look at in many articles on the internet. Today I want to talk about a feature of Hive that I think is extremely valuable, and that is precisely what the title of this article refers to:

POWER THAT GIVES POWER

Perhaps, like me, the first thing you have known about Hive is its social network ecosystem. We know that through the interaction in these social networks there is the possibility of being incentivized with Hive and HBD through the likes or “likes” that we receive in the publications and comments.

The first thing you might think is that, as in other social networks, likes represent the value of the publication, but likes are nothing more than a measure of Christmas. However, in Hive, likes are not only a measure of vanity, but they also have a monetary value because thanks to the social fund protocol or reward pool, it is possible to give value. But, the matter is much more complex.

It is for this reason that in Hive, we talk about power that gives power, which I find amazing and deeply innovative, if we understand Hive as a country, each person with a wallet is a citizen and each citizen has the ability to influence the country's policy, and can also give the ability to influence others. Philosophically this is something that really strikes me and that day by day I try to get deeper into the philosophy of Hive in the strict sense. So the next time you give a like on any DApp on Hive, think that you are giving power.
