The subject for this edition of inleo initiative under this beautiful community is on mindfulness and self Self discipline. I decided to title it the secret of quality living. I consider this topic timely and speaks directly to how an individual could live a fulfilled life.
I could clearly see reasons why many are so confused and frustrated about life. So are at the verge of giving up but this these is really a wake up call and energizer to propel one to soar higher, remain resolute in pursuing purpose.

Before I proceed with my other inputs, I would like to define and stress on some cardinal key points for better clarification.

what's Mindfulness?

Guess what? I asked my son this question and he boldly said this is when your mind is full with something. Wow I was so amazed at this insight. Mindfulness entails being intentional, deliberate not focusing on any criticism and being open to a thing. It's a process or situation where one is focused on something without being distracted. In other words, I see it as a form of meditation. This is an essential ingredient for daily living. Any great personality under the surface of the earth today is a product of mindfulness.

  • It reduces stress or pressure.
  • It brings focus and good mental clarity.
  • Mindfulness enables one to be self aware or conscious of what one self.
  • Mindfulness could easily boost one's relationship.

Haven shared that, let me quickly share on the second aspect which is self discipline.

what's self discipline?

This is the ability or capacity to control one's emotions,thoughts, feelings, actions, which results to achieving a target. The ability to harness and subject actions for positive impact is what I called self discipline.
The essential thing about self discipline includes;

  1. Goal settings or goal creation. You can't achieve anything if you're not goal oriented. In achieving any reasonable goal, one must be disciplined. Every attainable goal required high level of self discipline.
  2. An essential part of self discipline is time management. Inability to manage time affects virtually everything. One must be mindful and deliberate to curb excesses for quality delivery.
  3. Another area that is very important is being accountable. Discipline requires accountability.

STRATEGIES FOR SELF DISCIPLINE.

Life fulfilment is all about good strategy deployed. I would share some strategies that I have used over time to actualize my goals.

  • Have a planned schedule. Don't just get into things but have an outline of what you want to do and achieve. I have to get a powerful diary for this enforcement and it's been fine.
  • Step down the tasks into various components that can easily be done.
  • Eliminate distraction.
  • Once in a motivate yourself and celebrate any form of achievement in order to inspire you to forge ahead.

There are different types of self discipline. We have emotional which has to do with emotions and stimuli. We have behavioural which has to do with actions and habit that one possess.

CONCLUSION

In achieving this, there are some challenges that must be overcome in order to be self discipline. These challenges includes; Distraction. Always stay focused on course and don't get distracted. Procrastination is another challenge that must be dealt with seriously. I wrote some post on this subject many months ago. When there is no motivation, one could easily be careless and not move forward.
