Hey guys
Brought up in a catholic family, going to church and attending mass and other rituals is more of something that connects me with the family today rather than a religious practice. My father is brought up attending this old church which is a basilica that still follows the same rituals and services. And my father is keen on getting us experience those rare things which we otherwise wont even get to see anywhere else.
The main feast is celebrated in this church in the coming week and as a part of it, there is 10 days early morning holy mass followed by a rosary procession circling the church and a novena at the grotto. So my father insisted on attending the mass at least one day and get to see everything. Today was the day we accomplished that mission.
I am not an early riser when I am back home.But tell me there is some kind of activity or event to attend, I'll be ready an hour early no matter the time. So, waking up early today was not a big deal but you know old habits die hard. Even though I was awake and excited, I was tired a bit. But the cool breeze that hit you on the face and the vibe of early morning gives that positive energy always. I enjoyed the ride through the empty roads at 5 AM to reach the church well before it gets crowded. I also understood why I am not allowed to travel through these roads at night and early morning alone, its truly dark and you can't find a single person on some of these roads.
Well, as my father suggested everything happened next was really an experience for me. It also freshened me up a bit. These are the things you can only feel by being there and not through the clips on a screen.
What actually made my day today was the comment from another Steemian/Dtuber @nathanmars who put a comment on my last vlog. It is these small gestures which brings a lot of joy when you are tired of getting auto generated comments and replies and stuff.
So that was pretty much the day and the red alert from most of the districts in Kerala is lifted though there is a warning of cyclone. Few areas experienced it in small scale and we were lucky it was not even felt in the area where I am living.
