Being a mom is a beautiful gift, I understand if you don't want to be one. But for me, it is the gift called life.
I was once asked what my dream was before having children and my answer was sure and clear: To have children and specifically, three. Well, my dream was always to be a mom and even, as I said before, I had the name "Ammy Elizabeth" written in my notebooks since I was a teenager, because I said that if one day I had a girl, I would name her that.
The school where Ammy, my eldest daughter, studies celebrated its 90th anniversary. Therefore, they organized a solemn ceremony, where in addition to recognizing the work and effort of former teachers and teachers present, they would give honorable mention to the most outstanding students of the institution and to our pride, Ammy received a letter as a special guest at the event, to receive this mention.
For us as parents, with no mention, we are proud of Ammy, she is an intelligent, participative child with a big heart. However, this letter filled us with great joy and pride, so much so that immediately the whole family and friends knew the news.
The event was held at the school and not in another more cozy place where it had been previewed. But how nice that it will be held right there. There were many children, parents, teachers and authorities present as representatives of the Government and the Mayor of the city and also the local press. Between greetings, applauses, poems, recognitions, it was time to call the children and everyone was very happy to see them.
When they called Ammy Elizabeth Monterola Pacheco 🥹 my heart jumped with joy, she walked smiling to the front while receiving her applause. She received the honorable mention for being the student in her grade with the best average, obtaining a 10 out of 10 in her grade for the last elective year. Her father, grandfather and I were present. Her grandmother couldn't be there because she was helping me take care of the kids. But we are all proud of her.
In the evening we celebrated the honoree with Hot Dogs and she enjoyed her day with hugs, ice cream and a nice dinner.
Ser mamá es un regalo hermoso, entiendo si no quieres serlo. Pero para mí , es el regalo llamado vida.
En una ocasión me preguntaron qué cuál había sido mi sueño antes de tener hijos y mi respuesta fue segura y clara: Tener hijos y específicamente, tres. Pues mi sueño siempre fue ser mamá e incluso, como he dicho antes, el nombre "Ammy Elizabeth" lo tenía escrito en mis cuadernos desde que era adolescente, pues decía que si un día tenía una niña, le pondría así.
La Escuela dónde estudia Ammy, mi hija mayor, cumplió 90 años de su creación. Por ello, organizaron un acto solemne, donde además de reconocer el trabajo y esfuerzo de los ex maestros y maestros presentes, darían mención de honor a los estudiantes más destacados de la institución y para nuestro orgullo, Ammy recibió una carta como invitada especial al evento, para recibir está mención.
Para nosotros como padres, con sin mención, estamos orgullosos de Ammy, es una niña inteligente, participativa y además con un gran corazón. Sin embargo está carta nos llenó de mucha alegría y orgullo del bueno, tanto que inmediatamente toda la familia y amigos, supieron la noticia.
El evento se realizó en la escuela y no en otro lugar más acogedor donde se tenía pre visto. Pero que bonito que se realizará allí mismo. Hubieron muchos niños, padres, maestros y autoridades presentes como representantes de la Gobernación y el Alcalde de la ciudad y también la prensa local. Entre saludos, aplausos, poemas, reconocimientos, llegó el turno de llamar a los niños y todos muy alegres al verlos.
Cuando llaman a Ammy Elizabeth Monterola Pacheco 🥹 mi corazón saltó de alegría, ella caminó sonriente al frente mientras recibía sus aplausos. Recibió la mención de honor por ser la Alumna de su grado con mejor promedio, obteniendo un 10 de 10 en su calificación del año electivo pasado. Estuvimos presentes, su papá, su abuelo y yo. Su abuela no pudo estar porque me ayudaba a cuidar a los niños. Pero todos estamos orgullosos de ella.
En la noche celebramos a la homenajeada con unos Hot Dogs (Perros Calientes) y así ella disfrutó su día, entre abrazos, helados y una rica cena.
