Yellow Wedelia

Yellow Wedelia or Sphagneticola trilobata or Wedelia trilobata is a kind of a perennial herbaceous plant that is usually found in tropical climate places.

A native South American plant is used as a cover for open ground. The plant it self could never grow tall on its own, making it a perfect plant to cover open areas full of sunshine make it more alive and green.

Even though it is good for landscaping, it also needs to be controlled very well, as this plant can grow very fast, it can occupy other land or kill other plants if they manage to invade the other space.

In my place, sometimes it is also being used as a feed to the livestock, especially cows. During the dry season where most of the plants suffer, this strong plant can still survive making it a better choice for the farmer.

The flower of this Yellow Wedelia is actually very nice. They have small yet many flowers in the clusters. It is also a very good food source for the bees and butterflies. if only I can catch one bee during the feeding time on the flower.
