Saving the Earth

Many times I hear a lot about how oil drilling is rendering the environment of such areas useless, but I hadn't been to such an environment until the middle of last year when I accompanied a friend to his hometown to retrieve some documents he had left at home. His area has an oil drilling company, which he had mentioned several times to me and also lamented about how bad is it to survive in the village.

We arrived at his home around 1:00 pm, and the first thing I noticed was the searing hot weather that made my body start sweating profusely. That's one of the effects; the gas flaring, in a fiery form channeled with a pole to the cloud, has made everywhere intensely hot that the ground shrinks and gets hardened when rain falls.
Their crops in the farm get fried with sunburn in the absence of rainfall.

We didn't go to the farm to see all that, but I was told, and the people in the compound confirmed it, and I kept imagining what the earth is going through to withstand that kind of heat. If the earth were to be human, I'm sure it would have picked up its gun and angrily begun to fight back at humans as payback.
Not just this, the people living in such environments are heavily feeling it. It's affecting their plants in the farm and also making their lives unbearable via the intense heat.

I think this is one major way of damaging the ecology without knowing it. Or maybe the oil miners know about the effect of gas flaring but don't know how to stop the gas flaring into another method of emission.
Over here in my part of the world, gas flaring in oil drilling companies is very common and rampant. We all know the effect on the nature, especially heating up the ozone layer and affecting the soil, but despite this, gas flaring is still being carried out. I keep wondering, is there no way to devise another means of drilling oil without resorting to gas flaring?

In places where oil is being drilled, most of them are prone to oil spills on the ground, and they end up killing the soil and making the water so useless when they seep into the water body. Oil spilling into the water body is another big issue that is very rampant, and whenever it happens, the water body becomes totally dead, the aquatic animals die easily, and maybe if the water was used for domestic purposes like bathing or washing clothes, it becomes smelly with stains, making it unusable.

The issue of ecology conservation is not only centered on the residents of a village or city; the companies ought to be greatly involved because they have a larger cause of polluting the environment and making our earth cry for help always.

For those of you in countries where oil is not being drilled, you wouldn't know how bad is it to be living in an environment where the air is mixed with emissions from gas flaring.

Thanks!
