Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

Once again, we have arrived at the weekend, and we all know what that means: it's Saturday, and Saturday means Caturday!

Happily, we're enjoying a fairly normal and peaceful weekend this week, with both the Mom-Hooman and the Dad-Hooman home.

The Dad-Hooman has spent rather a lot of time outside today doing yard work, so I've been hanging out with the Mom-Hooman in her office, while she works on building some ”website” for a friend of hers, ahead of some big ”workshop” they're giving in the spring of 2025.

She assures me it is an important part of them being able to procure more cat food, and as long as that holds true i'm certainly not going to begrudge her her time. At least I have a good vantage point from which I can supervise what she's doing… and it looks like she's doing a really good job.

In the meantime, what previously was "kitten talk" has now turn to the possibility of adopting a young adult cat from a cat rescue instead.

One of the reasons the Mom-Hooman like that particular idea is that she is allergic to many cats (although not me) and if she can pick an actual breed of cat it lessens the chance of her having an allergic reaction to the new cat. Or new cats.

The Hoomans have previously had a particular cat breed known as ”Ragdolls,” and they tend to be very low on the typical allergens that bother humans.

Short version: we still don't know exactly what's going to happen!

Regardless, I'm getting used to the idea of having a new companion — or maybe two new companions. I do tend to like other cats, and with Smudge getting rather old, having a younger cat in the house would definitely be a plus.

After a very long dry spell, it has been slowly clouding up today and the air is kind of humid and clammy. Just a few moments ago we heard distant Thunder in the mountains, which is very unusual for this part of the world, but might be the harbinger of the long promised rain.

I don't like the sound, but it'll be nice when the grass outside is green again!

Not going to say too much about the Cryptosphere this week, things just don't seem to be going much of any place these days.

”Those who know” about such things tell us that late summer is often a fairly dead — or even down — time of the year and it certainly looks like that's going to hold true again this year.

Can't say that I'm feeling particularly encouraged about our own Hive token being under $0.20 so pervasively, but what can you do but keep your nose to the grindstone and carry on?

Well, I think I hear the sound of dinner happening in the kitchen so I had better run off and check that out!
