Greetings friends who love the architecture of the world! Today I would like to share a little about the visit I made to one of the most important theaters in my country Venezuela, the Teresa Carreño Theater.
This beautiful building has been the most important cultural center of the capital city for more than 40 years. I once had the opportunity to visit one of its wonderful halls, some years ago, and I was impressed with how huge it is inside. The chairs are very comfortable with their velvet armchairs and the wooden panels hanging from the high ceiling.
The outside of the building is rustic in style. It has beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces for outdoor functions and picnicking. The rehearsal rooms are well equipped with mats and mirrors.
In the hallways there are craft fairs, book sales, traditional dishes and folk art exhibits. I remember my visit to Caracas in December 2019, I had to go to the Christmas fair at the Teresa Carreño Theater, I bought a hammock woven by the indigenous people in moriche, I attended a rehearsal of a play and tasted the hallacas with traditional Venezuelan ham bread.
In the building with large windows to take advantage of the light and rustic walls, are located the offices for the opera chorus and ballet, which are part of the theater.
At the entrance of the building, we find a wide walkway in the same rustic style, which passes over the avenue to have a safe access to the theater.
It also has a bookstore, cafeterias, art gallery, terraces and environments that adapt to the different cultural presentations.
To access the main halls, there are escalators. And the entire ceiling of this area, which is the Foyer, represents a work made in hanging tubes that form a white cubes floating on other tubes in yellow background.
To be honest, this is my favorite part of the whole Theater. There is a special magic in this place.
I liked to see how parents come to drop off their little dancers from an early age for rehearsals. The responsibility of the dance school is remarkable as they have security guards throughout the facility.
On one occasion I was able to see a play about Arab culture and I really liked the costumes and the music that represented those ancient traditions.
This time, I was with my family and we met a Mexican friend who loves Venezuela and was visiting. To see it was great and what better place than the patio of the Teresa Carreño Theater.
From my point of view, the building of the Teresa Carreño Theater is like an architectural element that rises from a natural garden. It is the urban fusion and nature that the capital city needs to look beautiful. It is that meeting point of cultures from all over the world. It is magnificent.

Visitando el imponente edificio del Teatro Teresa Carreño en Caracas
¡Saludos amigos amantes de las obras de arquitectura del mundo! Hoy me gustaría compartir un poco sobre la visita que hice a uno de los teatros más importantes de mi país Venezuela, el Teatro Teresa Carreño.
Este bonito edificio tiene más de 40 años siendo el centro cultural más importante de la ciudad Capital. Una vez tuve la oportunidad de visitar una de sus maravillosas salas, hace algunos años, y quedé impresionada con lo inmensa que es por dentro. Las sillas son muy cómodas con sus butacas de terciopelo y los paneles de madera colgando del elevado techo.
El edificio por fuera es de estilo rústico. Tiene unos bellos jardines y espacios al aire libre que sirven para funciones externas y para merendar. Los salones de ensayo están bien equipados con colchonetas y espejos.
En los pasillos se organizan ferias artesanales, ventas de libros, platos tradicionales y exhibiciones de arte popular. Recuerdo mi visita a Caracas en el mes de diciembre del año 2019, tenía que pasar a la feria navideña del Teatro Teresa Carreño, compré una hamaca tejida por los indigenas en moriche, asistí a un ensayo de una obra y probé las hallacas con pan de jamón tradicionales de Venezuela.
En el edificio con ventanales amplios para aprovechar la luz y paredes rústicas, se ubican las oficinas referentes al coro de ópera y al ballet, que son propios del Teatro.
En la entrada de edificio, encontramos una pasarela amplia en el mismo estilo rustico, que pasa sobre la avenida para tener un acceso seguro al Teatro.
También cuenta con una librería, cafeterías, galería de arte, terrazas y ambientes que se adaptan a las diferentes presentaciones culturales.
Para acceder a las salas principales, encontramos unas escaleras eléctricas. Y el techo completo de esta área, que es el Foyer, representa una obra hecha en tubos colgantes que forman uno cubos blancos flotando sobre otros tubos de fondo en color amarillo.
Para ser honesta, esta es mi parte favorita de todo el Teatro. Se siente una magia especial en este lugar.
Me gustó ver como llegan los padres a dejar a sus pequeños bailarines desde edades tempranas en los ensayos. La responsabilidad de la escuela de danza es notable ya que tienen guardias de seguridad por todo el establecimiento.
En una ocasión pude ver una obra de la cultura árabe y me gustó mucho los trajes y la música que representaba a esas antiguas tradiciones.
En esta oportunidad, estaba con mi familia y nos encontramos con un amigo mexicano que ama Venezuela y estaba de visita. Verlo fue genial y que mejor sitio que el patio del Teatro Teresa Carreño.
Desde mi punto de vista, el edificio del Teatro Teresa Carreño, es como un elemento arquitectónico que se eleva desde un jardín natural. Es la fusión urbana y naturaleza que la ciudad capital necesita para lucir hermosa. Es ese punto de encuentro de culturas de todo el mundo. Es magnífico.
