My Family through our cat Aurora (En/ Es)

It's school time and like all children, my kids are in the middle of their homework and school projects, they are quite busy these days, because it's their turn to get down to work after class and do their homework. But they almost always have a funny "inconvenience" and that is our beautiful pet Aurora, who as soon as she sees them take out their school supplies, colors, pencils, markers, rulers, sheets or Bond paper; the first one to stand near them, if not literally on top of their homework is her ha, ha, ha; turning the time of homework into a fun and relaxed moment.

Almost always, from wherever I am in my room or kitchen, I hear the screams of apparent scolding towards our puss, which are accompanied by laughter and fussing. Then it's up to my husband or me to try to remove her away from the notebooks, sheets or display boards. We remove her and a few minutes later she is back in the middle of everything, ha, ha, ha, ha; besides she knows how to make everyone smile, my children can't contain themselves in front of such sweetness, besides none of us can resist those eyes, ha, ha, ha, ha. The whole family tries to push him aside, to the point that the kids end up giving him a space between them and their things.

I always remember, what our home was like, before this adorable cat arrived; it was almost always tedious, sometimes doing homework; but now everything is so different and the difference has been made by integrating our adorable cat Aurora into our lives. Seeing the smiles of everyone at home before her antics is priceless; we all relax more with her around us, then it is here, where I start to reflect, about the importance of giving them, giving children a pet, it is really a great help, because it teaches them respect for other lives, also to have responsibilities, because animals have their needs that have to be met and it is everyone's duty to collaborate with their welfare.

I have seen the change especially in my children, because they have become even more sensitive than they already were, now they are more aware of the needs of other living beings, such as dogs, cats, birds, and any animal they see in a street situation, that needs help, as my youngest daughter says, they have become more "chicken hearts" that is, more sensitive to the pain and needs of these animals and even of everyone at home and in their schools, among their friends, in all their environment. I remember that in recent days, a friend of my daughter's and her family had to put their little dog to sleep, because it was already very sick and old. My daughter felt very sorry for the animal and for her friend; in fact, she went with her to be with her and her family during that terrible moment.

She came home crying, very sad, because she could not imagine when we had to deal with our beloved Aurora; we explained to them that death is part of life, whether for animals or for ourselves, and all this has happened through the adoption of our beloved cat; that is why I recommend having a pet if possible and if you adopt one, even better, because they provide great teachings to the whole family. Es época escolar y como todos los niños, mis hijos están en plena presentación de sus tareas y proyectos escolares, están bastante ocupados, por estos días; pues les toca ponerse manos a la obra después de sus clases realizando sus tareas. Pero casi siempre tienen un divertido "inconveniente" y es nuestra bella mascota Aurora, que nada más verlos sacar sus implementos escolares, colores, lápices, marcadores, reglas, hojas o papel Bond; la primera que se coloca cerca de ellos, sino encima literalmente de sus tareas es ella ja, ja, ja; convirtiendo el momento de las tareas en un momento divertido y relajado.

Casi siempre, desde donde esté en mi habitación o cocina, oigo los gritos de aparentes regaños hacia nuestra minina, que van acompañados de risas y alboroto. Entonces nos toca a mi esposo o a mí, que tratar de retirarla lejos de los cuadernos, hojas o láminas de exposición. La retiramos y a los pocos minutos vuelve ella a estar en medio de todo, ja, ja, ja; aparte de que sabe cómo sacarle sonrisas a todos, mis hijos no pueden contenerse ante tanta dulzura, aparte de que ninguno nos resistimos a esos ojos, ja, ja, ja. La familia entera busca de hacerle un lado, al punto de que los niños terminan dándole un espacio entre ellos y sus cosas.

Siempre recuerdo, lo que era nuestro hogar, antes de llegar esta adorable gata; era casi siempre tedioso, en ocasiones realizar tareas escolares; pero ahora todo es tan diferente y la diferencia lo ha hecho el integrar a nuestra adorable gata Aurora a nuestras vidas. Ver las sonrisas de todos en casa ante las travesuras de ella no tiene precio; Todos nos relajamos más con ella a nuestro alrededor, entonces es aquí, donde me pongo a reflexionar, acerca de la importancia de brindarles, darles a los niños una mascota, en verdad es de gran ayuda, pues les enseña el respeto por otras vidas, también a tener responsabilidades, pues los animales tienen sus necesidades que tienen que ser atendidas y es deber de todos colaborar con su bienestar.

He visto el cambio sobre todo en mis hijos, porque se han vuelto aún más sensibles de lo que ya eran, ahora están más conscientes de las necesidades de otros seres vivos, como los perros, gatos, aves, y todo aquel animal que vean en situación de calle, que requiera ayuda, como dice mi hija menor, se han vuelto más "corazones de pollo" es decir, más sensibles ante las penas y necesidades de estos animales e incluso de todos en casa y en sus escuelas, entre sus amistades, en todo su entorno. Recuerdo que en días pasados, una amiga de mi hija y su familia tuvieron que poner a dormir a su perrito, porque ya estaba muy enfermo y viejito. Mi hija sentía mucha pena por el animalito y por su amiga; de hecho, fue acompañarla para estar con ella y su familia durante ese terrible momento.

Llegó a casa llorando, muy triste, pues no se imaginaba cuando nos tuviera que tocar con nuestra querida Aurora; nosotros les explicamos que la muerte es parte de la vida, así sea para los animales, como para nosotros mismos y todo esto, se ha dado a través de la adopción de nuestra querida gata; es por ello que recomiendo si es posible tener una mascota y si la adoptan mucho mejor, ya que nos brindan grandes enseñanzas a toda la familia.
