A Walk towards Peace of Mind

Another long tiring Tuesday. The morning passed accomplishing some seminars and tasks for the client. Likewise, the noontime was no different.

A furious look on the monitor made him feel that his eyes are popping out. The sound of the keyboard is like a wrathful gun blasted in every strike of the keys. Typing, editing, researching, and the cycle goes on leading to brain drain.

During the seminar, the speaker keeps on presenting but his mind finds everything surreal and the teachings just melt away. The seminar is like, " I was there but I was not there thing". Ok, he is a middle-aged guy working from home but why does he feel like he is still a slave in the employment industry?

Then the 5 pm alarm from his phone finally rang.

"Oh yes I am free!", he quipped.

Dropping the headphones and shutting down the laptop, he feels his shoulders are going to fall. It feels quite heavy and his ass feels numb.

"Oh, what a day", with a lifeless voice he whispered.

It's time to alter the scene. Luckily he is situated in a far-flung area where there are still trees, mountain views, and singing birds to hear. Thus, he took walking the fields

The sun is starting to bid a temporary goodbye. Its golden rays illuminate the surroundings as if it has undergone "Midas Touch".The grass shines celebrating a generous bath of soothing UV rays. So as he. The afternoon sun serves as a warm massage eliminating those muscle spasms roving around his body. It penetrates deep down the skin

It is like a caress saying, " You did a great job today".

As the cold November monsoon blew, it nudges his nostrils. Ah! it is so nice to breathe deeply. The oxygen enters each fiber of his windpipe passing through his lungs down to his tummy destroying the marks of the harmful radiation. It is a priceless source of relief.

While the birds hum a lullaby, he can't help but close his eyes and let its melody ease his troubled mind. Every chirp is a caring sonata.

This is the gift of nature, creating an atmosphere of unforgettable moments that no amount of money can buy. Living in the countryside is a privilege away from the hustles and bustles of the metro.

As he continuously stroll, he let the minutes pass... no rush. Far from the noise of the automobiles, distant from the harsh polluted air, and away from the haste of modern life, he is at peace.

For a moment this middle-aged guy felt he is a human, a part of the divine creation related to every piece of the environment. Sitting on a bamboo bench, he enjoyed the view as the night starts to take its stage.

It was a good decision to take a walk instead of watching social media that provides diversion but also a deeper frustration making you search for your true self even more.

The experience is recharging. When the sky's color shifted from orangy to indigo, the air gets even colder. The gentle breeze is calming both for the heart and soul. Truly, good things come at no cost and it is always there.

He can't help but smile and be grateful to be in that situation... so perfect... so ideal. His inner self is singing a tune along with the trees, birds, grasses, and mountains.

He was even delighted to see young ones enjoying the freedom of youth. It was lovely to watch them so agile and brave playing in the fields. It brought him back to the times when life is easy and happy. Reminiscing the good old days.

We all have our dreams. We are more than willing to work hard for it not just for ourselves but for the people we love as well. Despite the weakness of being human, we push our limits to achieve our goals not knowing that we are driving our own selves in the brink of exhaustion.

Don't worry. No need to blame yourself. Just remember to take a break. Go back to ground zero and connect to your roots, nature. You are part of the collective whole. Admit it or not, there is a piece of ourselves that longs to unite with nature once in a while. If you are in the city just look at the sky. It is the nature's offering that will always be with us.

Even machines get worn out, so as you and you are not a machine. Part of being a human is having a good time resting. Rest not because you are done. Take a rest because you need to recover your strength for there are a lot of things needed to be done.

... So he went home full of gladness. He has more energy to share with the people he loves. I know because it was me in the fields. I was the middle-aged guy.
