Wutopia Lab
The laboratory Wutopia was commissioned by Aranya to renew part of the club house into a restaurant for children. We hope to create a Neverland for children in this space of less than 1,000 square feet.
When you digest the physical properties of the materials, we hope to create a place that lost texture, material, and spatial orientation. The polycarbonate material used in the case of the “One person's gallery” (gallery for one person) was used in combination with light to create an experience of loss of sense of the size and the texture. Bubbles, colorless and transparent, and refract the rainbow and are fleeting and unpredictable, but the kids love them. The restaurant for children should be a polycarbonate Neverland.

We use polycarbonate panels to wrap the original facade, a mixture of villa-style of the prairie, and Art Deco to contemporary, by creating a new
facade translucent. We put greening vertical and big stairs between the facades of old and new. This facade is hierarchical, it was considered as a whole facade.

We reorganized the function and simplify. Directly from the stairs to the open air, first going in the clear forest on the second floor. Under the soft illumination of the ceiling light, the PVC pipe mate encloses a circular dining and two private dining rooms surrounded by polycarbonate panels. The lighting circular and diffuse, white tones do lose the feeling of texture, scale and direction in this space.
You can enter the ground floor under the starry sky along the grand staircase. Under the roof of the starry sky, we created a playground for the kids with hollow balls made of PVC, fiberglass cloth, plastic balls, marino, artificial stone and glue floor. With a magic mirror as the edge of the play space, we try to distort the realism of the place, as if time would not pass.

On the edge of the main space, there is a bathroom of the memory of pink, a bath of sound marine, a mirror pool, a water slide of stainless steel, a trampoline, a tree of bubbles and a mysterious area of illustrated books. Are the hidden corners in this unknown land that they expect the children to discover for themselves.

The climax and most important of all, the restaurant is the house flying red built-in ceiling panels aluminum drilled double. Following the trail of yellow, passing by a floor of stainless steel, with disregard for the tree of bubbles, turning toward the ridge, you can see that the light becomes brighter and brighter. This house flying could easily be converted into a visible sign of the park. It could also be a lighthouse, pointing out the limitations of our lives.
We hope that the architectural practice of Wutopia Lab is able to activate a rich imagination and artistic techniques exaggerated to make “special performances” in everyday life, turning the everyday life in a “magical reality” and creating a miracle journal can reveal the truth of real life . We hope that the design can turn reality into an illusion without losing its truth. The Anaya Kid's Restaurant is the best example of this design philosophy.
