We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
That is how we started with this particular form of government which was never perfect but it was ours. What was once a government for the people by the people has turned into something I am not even sure there are words for. What was once referred to as a shining beacon of freedom has turned into not much more than a farce. A country where the laws do not matter, the people do not matter, the sanctity of human life is but a mere afterthought, and where dead people vote regularly. We are so concerned with emotional issues that logic has been completely forgotten. Where so many people have taken an oath to uphold and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic yet have not lived up to that oath. For generations. Often I see posts about honoring soldiers, the flag, first responders and etc but rarely is there ever a post about honoring your fellow man/woman.
What was once a free press has turned into a propaganda machine. What was once a nation of free thinkers has turned into a nation of regurgitation. Talking heads yielding talking points. What was once a sovereign people has given way to a citizenry of sheep. A nation that used to lead the world in manufacturing, technology, invention, and basically everything has given way to a nation that leads in incarceration and death. In 1939 germany invaded poland and that marked the start of world war 2. We regularly invade other countries and commit acts of war but it is ok. We claim that there is an opioid epidemic but the production of opium and its derivatives is funded by our tax dollars. The resulting treatment is also funded by our tax dollars. We have fought opium wars for generations but nobody says anything about that.
We would be so excited if we found evidence of single-celled organisms on Mars but use abortion as a form of birth control. While I agree it should be a choice I do not agree with the sheer magnitude of its use. I also do not agree with tax dollars being used to fund it. I do not agree with most uses of tax dollars. I do not agree with all of the waste. I do not agree with all of the blood shed, I do not agree with all of the dissension, racism, or isms in general.
Making America Great Again does not start with some magical president or a slogan. It starts with the people and individually there are some great people in this country but collectively we behave like cattle. We are doomed as a nation if we continue along our current path. Little by little we have lost ourselves. We are in fact frogs in a pot of water and we have yet to notice what we are doing to ourselves. We have yet to notice what we are incessantly begging for. The amount of change that has happened even in my relatively short lifetime is shocking when you really think about it. Some of the change has been good but most of it is very very bad.
