Stone „Abomination” misused

On September 13, Donald Trump met with Senator Tim Scott to be lectured about racism (1). After succeeding days, Roger Stone, called one issue of that meeting an “Abomination”.
What is outrageous is that he was referring to the combination of a blue jacket with black pants that Trump decided to wear that day.

I don’t care how much Roger Stone cares about fashion, that’s a misuse of the word “Abomination”. In an era where we can’t afford to normalize Trump further, and blowing up little things helps to normalize him, this is the worse that the media could be reporting on right now.
On August 29 was the 3 years’ anniversary of the Tan Suit “controversy” (2). This is like the democrats’ version of that but worse.
There are so many things you can criticize Trump for, starting with the fact that he didn’t follow any of the advice giving to him by Tim Scott (3) by repeating: “many sides” were to blame for what happened or Charlottesville.
One thing that can justifiably be called an “Abomination” is trying to repeal and not effectively replace Obamacare. Which would cost lives by stripping 32 million from health-insurance by 2026 (4).
Another policy based thing that I would call an “Abomination” is Ending DACA (5). Ending DACA is, “In terms of immediate human suffering and sheer moral obtuseness”, one of the worst single decisions that Trump has made.
If you really want to talk about an “Abomination”, let’s talk about drone strikes and arms-deals, or maybe the raid approved by Trump in Yemen that killed an 8-year-old American girl (6).
From tax-cuts to the rich, because they want to try trickle-down economics again (7), that would screw the middle class even further, to dismissing climate change as a Chinese hoax (8). Almost everything that Trump does can be called an “Abomination”, but now we found an issue where it isn’t and calling it that undermines the importance of all the previous mentioned issues.
On September 14, it was reported that a Florida Lawmaker called an “Abomination” that 8 elderly residents died because they weren’t evacuated sooner (9), and he is right. Those lives that were lost, climate change not being tackled the way it needs to be, all the hurricanes and earthquakes, it is an “Abomination”.
Now a real catastrophe is being diminished to a fashion “emergency”, to something banal that should never be at the level of lives. I can’t imagine my outrage if I was part of the family of the 8 elderlies who died.
Stop normalizing Trump, stop diminishing actual problems and catastrophes, focus on what’s important and never lose that focus.
