PL: Szukałem - znalazłem, kupiłem - już jest u mnie, nowy adapter wifi do moich prób pentestingu. Od jakiegoś czasu zajmuje się pentestingiem. Miałem starą leciwą kartę wifi na usb, która świetnie do tego się nadawała. Niestety zaczęła się psuć, po dłuższej pracy przegrzewała się i zrywała połączenie. Jakieś półtora tygodnia temu karta poległa całkowicie, po minucie pracy po prostu wyłączała się i trzeba było restartować komputer, żeby znów zaczęła pracować.
Poprzednio kupiłem adapter firmy Alfa, który niestety nie spełniał do końca kryteriów pentestingu (adapter nie pracował w trybie monitora). adapter nadaje się do połączeń sieciowych wifi - ma całkiem niezłe osiągi, no ale to nie to o co mi chodziło.
Tym razem poczytałem, poszperałem na forach i znalazłem adapter który powinien spełniać kryteria. Zacząłem przeglądać allegro, alliexpress i amazona. Wczoraj rano znów zajrzałem do internetu i znalazłem “adapter moich marzeń”, szybko go kupiłem i dziś niespełna godzinę temu wylądował u mnie w domu. Paczka nadana z Litvy i już jest u mnie. Szybciej niż na allegro. Liczyłem że adapter przyjdzie najwcześniej w poniedziałek, a tu taka niespodzianka.
Rozpakowałem z pudełka i podłączyłem. Adapter ruszył od razu, bez szukania sterowników i kombinacji. Uruchomiłem program “airgeddon” i adapter działa bez zarzutu. W tryb monitora wszedł bez żadnego problemu, wszczykiwanie złośliwych pakietów też nastąpiło bez żadnych błędów.
Adapter jest tej samej firmy co poprzedni (“Alfa”), koszt prawie jak poprzedniej (prawie 200 zł), jedyna różnica i to kolosalna to chipset - Atheos. I tu był właśnie pies pogrzebany. Z tego co wyczytałem tylko adaptery na chipsecie Atheosa wchodzą w tryb monitora. Szkoda że nie poczytałem zanim kupiłem poprzedni adapter, ale w sumie nie żałuję, bo teraz mam szybszy internet.
Dziś popołudnie poświęce na zabawę i testowaniu a właściwie na próbie włamania do komputerów moich dzieci. Na czymś trzeba poćwiczyć.

I had an old old usb wifi dongle which was great for this. Unfortunately, it started to break down, overheated after a long work and cut off the connection. About a week and a half ago, the card died completely, after a minute of work it just turned off and you had to restart the computer to get it working again.
Previously, I bought an Alfa adapter, which unfortunately did not fully meet the pentesting criteria (the adapter did not work in monitor mode). the adapter is suitable for wifi network connections - it performs quite well, but that's not what I meant.
This time I read, searched the forums and found an adapter that should meet the criteria. I started browsing allegro, alliexpress and amazon. Yesterday morning I looked on the internet again and found the "adapter of my dreams", I quickly bought it and today less than an hour ago it landed at my home. The package was sent from Litva and is already with me. Faster than on the Allegro. I was hoping that the adapter would come on Monday at the earliest, and here is such a surprise.
I unpacked it from the box and plugged it in. The adapter started right away, without looking for drivers and combinations. I started the airgeddon program and the adapter works fine. It entered monitor mode without any problem, malicious packet initiation was also performed without any errors.
The adapter is from the same company as the previous one ("Alfa"), the cost is almost like the previous one (almost PLN 200), the only difference and colossal is the Atheos chipset. And here was the dog buried. From what I've read, only the adapters on the Atheos chipset go into monitor mode. It is a pity that I did not read before I bought the previous adapter, but I do not regret it, because now I have faster internet.
Today I will spend the afternoon playing and testing, actually trying to break into my children's computers. You have to work out for something.
