In early March, I wrote about the difficult financial situation in the Poker Players Alliance (PPA). The main goal of the Association is to fight for legalization of online poker in the USA. Over the past month, she had to raise $25,000 to continue her work.
A month passed, and its results were crying — it was collected only $6,000. This result is significant not only because the necessary amount was not collected, but also because even with the ridiculous, in fact, the amount of necessary donations of the Association of poker players managed to collect only 24% of the funds!
This suggests only one thing: that PPA has absolutely no support among US players, and that they see no point in its further work. And all the results of its activities, which spoke a lot about rich Mooney (President of the Association) or not so significant, or simply not, as well as the alleged millions of members of the PPA.
On Twitter PPA signed 22 thousand people, a group on Facebook-75 thousand. Only in Facebook all March there were posts about fundraising, Twitter was filled this month with the usual news. In this sense, the reaction of Douglas Polk to the fundraising was very revealing — a well-known player and video blogger said that he would be glad to stop PPA activity and does not advise anyone to give them money
It turns out that the completion of PPA — a question almost solved.
