Corporate Slavery

Corporate Slavery

The 8 to 5 workers of America,
mechanical flesh and bones
no purpose, whatsoever
just resumes and small talk.

We heal, we give, we operate
we manage, we think, we renovate
to every side there’s a different story
come in early -- see the morning glory!

Old, wrinkled suits in fancy cars
college kids as professional stars
moms, dads, and their benefits
30-somethings with no kids.

Tight skirts, perverted looks
Viagra pills for management folks
coffee orgies, unsatisfied lives
hard-on’s and fantasy wives.

Business attire, clock is ticking
the day is well-partitioned
all-day meetings, paid time off
click, stare, click, stare, cough.

Eyes teary because of radiation
get up, pee in formation
walk around cubicle farms
talk about cosmetics and cars.

When the boss comes, say "hello"
just a little girl on her way to the show
what a sad life, embarrassment…
and you are only middle management.

Meanwhile, bosses are doped up
on drugs, wealth, or their ego
some cold, some racist, some stupid
everyone’s playing their little puppet.

Money is the glue of mediocrity
the way we justify our burdens
future "us" will contemplate the fallacy
of entire lives spent on nothing.
