☆☆☆ Cardinal

Dashing clouds across the sky
In the midst a golden eye
A cardinal comes flying by

And passing on without a tie
It floats so high up in the sky
That it too escapes my eye

And on the earth remains a feather
Barely whispering a sound
Its spirit freed now from its tether
Which had bound it to the ground
