The life and work of Abu Ṭ-Ṭayyib al-Mutanabbi

What will the one who joins our Assembly

That I'm the best among those who came

I am the one that the blind reads my literature

And the one that the deaf hears what I say

I sleep serenely away from the tumults of life

At a time when others are watching by tormenting themselves

The horses, the night and the desert all know who I am

As well as the sword, the bow, the feather and the ink

That you were looking for us but our imperfections you don't

Find

Your claims are not accepted by God or by the hospitality

Our honor rises far from your suspicions

And I remain a star even when I'm older
