POEM: Retreat

Bare Your Soul

Perhaps retreat is best.
There are times to be bold,
But you must also rest,
Care for body and soul.

Tend your responsibilities,
Show up, best you can each day,
Take care of your own,
Take a breath,
Remember to play.

Sometimes the heart chants its beat,
And dancing is the only thing
That will do.
If you don’t move,
If you don’t sing,
You’ll unravel
To reveal the truth.

There is a different dark.
A restful one that will pull you
To slumber, to a place where
You can dare, dream,
All you want to do.

Yes.
Perhaps retreat is best,
Silence more the thing to do.
Alone, in your thoughts,
Bare your soul.
Be you.
