E don tey wey man dey wait
E don tey wey wait dey wait man
Dem say patience na true virtue
All these things dey look untrue
10years person dey fry akara
From January to December e dey tie wrapper
E never still think to open restaurant
Even mama put no get store front!

E don tey wey man dey wait
E don tey wey wait dey wait man
Boys go dey smoke for one corner
Something wey be heart burner
Babes hustle na to waka naked
For their tiny mind fashion upgraded
Man no get peace of mind
Street no get watin we dey find!

E don tey wey man dey wait
E don tey wey wait dey wait man
Gunshot up and down for area
The only thing wey we get cure na malaria
Even your house na public affairs
Your neighbor food dey break your night mare
Joy dey or no dey street
Finally we no even fit chop meat!

E don tey wey man dey wait
E don tey wey wait dey wait man
Poverty dey hammer us
But we still dey carry shoulders like boss
Them dey burst bottle up and down
Street boys still dey fight for crown
For infertility them dey bargain
Price wey no waka with better gain!

E don tey wey man dey wait
E don tey wey wait dey wait man
He who laughs last na stammerer
Forget that thing people still dey hammer
Bad things fast pay pass good
Boys still dey loyal to the hood
Poverty no fit shake us to say
Hustle no go pay one day!

Generally the poem is a mission to state the velocity of hustling in the street and the hope for one to 'make it' despite the difficulties and infertility of the street.
