With the heavy pole kept behind their heads
And the thick rope tied around their necks
No way to escape
Will there be an end
To this unbearable suffering ?
Too weary to move
Legs are shivering
The heavy blows on the back
Make the body shudder
The pangs of hunger and thirst
Suppressed by fear and pain
Come to the forefront
Now and then
They toil from morn till night - without a moment's rest
No way to express their mental agony
'Cause they are dumb
Their pleading eyes only
Beg for mercy
Let them live peacefully
At least for a few days
Free from pain
Mentally and physically
As they will face their inevitable end
In a butchery
It will not take long.
