No place between rocks
Surrounded by sea
Of sugar cane
Threatening sea green
That burns in controlled fire
By dehumanized human hand
The fire facilitator
From manual labor
From the cane cutter
The fire
Lick the lone ipê
Who fights for their survival
Driving Water
Desperately from the roots
Even the smallest of its leaves
In your site of rocks
Bulwark
Against the unbearable heat
In your over flight
The good-by-you cheer for ipê
The woodpecker prays for the chicks
In the warmth of the trunk
Of the brave ipê
Symbol of a life
Disadvantage
Against ignorance
Of humans who
They practice such actions
Inhuman
