Onion prices have started decreasing in the supply chain

Due to the increase in the supply, the prices of onion started decreasing. In the retail markets, imported onions are imported at Tk 50- 55 per kg and domestic onions are sold at Tk 60 per kg. Which has been sold in the last week for a maximum of five to 10 rupees.

However, onion prices are relatively high. Because, recently, the Indian government withdrew the minimum export price onion (MEP). Last month, the export price was reduced from $ 850 per ton to $ 700. After 3 February, India withdrew export price limit. Even then the price of onion is not decreasing.

However, traders were blaming the minimum export price of the country for so many years due to unrest in the country's onion market.

In this context, traders said that import of onion from India increased in comparison to earlier. This is why the onion market is good for the market now. The price of onion will reduce further. Along with onion, the price has decreased.

The vegetable businessman of Kawranbazar, Helal said, "Now lots of vegetables supply in the market. In the meantime, along with acute winter, fog increases and many vegetables are destroyed in the fields. That is why the prices of vegetables increased. But now the supply of vegetables is normal.
