It's A Marathon

Noah wake up at 6am.

He stretch and drink a glass of water.

He read for half an hour, then get in a 20-minute workout.

He take a cold shower, drink a protein shake and brush his teeth.

On his way to work, he listen to a podcast.

In the office, he dig deep into his creative flow.

He get tons of tough work done and reach his goals.

On the way back home, he call his dad and do groceries.

He make himself a healthy meal, then work out.

One hour of writing and one hour of reading.

He turn the lights off and fall asleep with a big smile on his face.

He couldn't have done more.

He gave his all.

He grew as much as he could.

He feel on top of the world.

He feel amazing.

A perfect day.

He have them once in a while, about once a week.

On other days, he wake up at 7:30am.

He don't work out, his shower is hot, his podcast is music, social media f*** with his flow and he don't get his work done.

He order take-out and watch Netflix.

But he still sleep like a baby.

It's okay to not always have perfect days.

It's okay to not always be on top of motivation mountain.

We tend to think of motivation as a tireless source of driving intrinsic energy and we get confused when we lose it, when we feel unmotivated.

But motivation is not a sprint, it's a marathon.

It's not giving up on trying to have perfect days.
