New shape of Pigment bar! Perfect!
“Pigment Bar” is a handmade oil color paint stick its made by Jaeyeol Han himself for the artist.
Despite the amount of time and effort required, I suddenly tried to make oil paint sticks myself because I wanted to understand better about my favorite materials.
Existing companies’ products had to be mass-produced to pursue profit. I found that it contained less pigment, lowered oil, and impurities to lower the unit price. Also, the price is quite high with the limited typical color chart.
For that reason, I wanted to make difference. I choose safflower oil instead of the linseed oil because it causes yellowing easily and I decide to make unusual colors I choose myself as a painter.
The resulting product was named “Pigment Bar”.
If you are unfamiliar with oil paint sticks, this is the main material used in all of the paintings I’ve ever made, and technically it means that liquid emulsions type of oil colors are made into solid rods like lipstick or crayons.
I do not have a lot of inventory due to the occasional production in my art studio by myself alone, but I would like to sell it to those who have been looking for these materials like me in order to share an experience which I'm feeling from artist quality material.
