Light painting on an abandoned military site part5

The Hangar

This is the last part of this series for the time being. Maybe we light painting junkies will get together again before the final demolition of the site to make the lights dance. However, that is not certain. The hangar has not been used for thirty years and nature has largely reclaimed the area. There are already trees where airplanes and helicopters used to be parked. The roof is so dilapidated that parts could come loose and fall to the ground in the wind. You get a little queasy when you move through the hangar.

Lighting this building was quite a tedious task when you only have a Convoy S2+ at your disposal. It was also difficult to avoid the many obstacles in the dark and not to trip, so you can see me in the picture several times. 😎

When I wanted to lightpaint a smaller hangar, Tom Cruise suddenly stood in front of me. 😮 I managed to take a snapshot, then he was gone again. Thanks to Hans for modeling. Next time it will definitely work better with the smoke candles. 😉
Danke an Hans fürs Modeln. 😉

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.
