Daily Photos 71 - The grave of a great writer

One of the greatest writer lived and died in my town, Calistrat Hogas's name.Though his grave is in the town's graveyard, I have never been to see him.He has written many literary works that are being studied at school.
The writer Calistrat Hogaş was born in Tecuci, with the name Dimitriu. He was the son of the dean Gheorghe Dimitriu and Mioarei Dimitriu (born Stanciu). He was enrolled at the public school, under the patronymic of Hogas, at the initiative of the teacher, Hogas being the grandfather's nickname from his father.
Primary classes are at Tecuci. In the period 1860-1869, Mihailean Academy from Iasi, in the generation of A.D. Xenopol, Alexandru Lambrior, Vasile Conta, Gheorghe Panu and others who have tied his lasting friendships. After graduating from high school he enrolled at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature in Iasi, the "Literary Branch". In the year when he finished his studies, after a competition, he was appointed professor of the "literary part" at the communal gymnasium in Piatra Neamt and, very shortly, director.
He married on January 17, 1871 with the daughter of priest Costache Gheorghiu from Piatra Neamt, the very young and hideous Elena, to whom the writer addressed the name "Elencu".
I understand he still has a relative coming from time to time to the grave.
