Asruddin is one of 300 participants of Geulayang Tunang aka kite competition held by Banda Aceh City Government in enlivening the city's 809th anniversary in Curieh, Sunday, May 11, 2014. These traditional games are often held in the villages after every harvest, to eliminate fatigue after several months working on the rice fields. Participants come from nearby villages. Kite contested is the kite of Aceh or klueng kite (kite eagle) made from bamboo sharpener and paper. Participants consisting of campus youths, had prepared the kite a month before the event began. The kite is usually also affixed with unique names like Jaloe, Anuek Drien, even the name of a political figure like Jokowi.
In Geulayang Tunang this time, there are 270 Aceh kites flown by 300 participants. The kite is a large average.
