๐Ÿ“ท Zen and the Art of Waiting for The Train๐Ÿ“ท ๐Ÿ˜‘

Presence in the Midst of Madness

Hong Kong, just like any major city, encapsulates the hustle and bustle of 21st-century urban life. But once and awhile something or someone emerges that puts all of the constant movement and frenetic energy into perspective, an example of stillness and peace.

This shot was taken in the HK MTR, the underground public railway service which caters to a daily average of 5.6 million passengers. Needless to say, it's difficult to find the opportunity to snap a single person in such a hectic environment, so I felt truly blessed to have encountered this scene the other day whilst on my way home.

This Zen monk was wearing the traditional grey robes of the Korean Su Bong Zen lineage, of which there is a monastery here in HK. See here - http://www.subong.org.hk/en

I only had time for three snaps as people were busy shuffling through my frame, so I felt particularly fortuitous on the third and final snap to capture this shot as the train was thundering into the station. The reflection seen is from the plexiglass barrier separating the platform from the gap and the train, used to stop suicides and accidents from occurring. In this instance, it provided an interesting reflective and misty backdrop.

This photo was taken on my LG V10 and edited in Lightroom

Thanks for dropping by, and I hope this shot brings a little peace into your life ๐Ÿ˜‘
