Another trip to see the seals.

Another morning with a head full of cobwebs and I needed to get out the house. The wife walks the dog on Sunday's so it's the one morning of the week when I'm not up and out. The eldest daughter decided she didn't want to go see the seals today after all, after the youngest and I visited yesterday. The youngest did want to go again so off we went!

It's a lovely sunny day but the windchill made it bloomin' cold! I wore my cap as I'm a baldy, but ended up taking it off due to the wind.

We had to walk a little further today before seeing a pup. There are wardens scattered along a roped pathway and this little thing was resting right by the edge of the path. The wardens do a great job of keeping visitors clear so as not to spook the pups. I'm always amazed at the number of people who take their dogs. It's a public space and they're entitled to do so, but I'd not feel comfortable taking our Lola to somewhere with so many seals about. Many of the dogs bark and yap with excitement - as you would expect them to.

We saw a number of pups feeding from their mothers. I imagine this one was very young due to it's size. It didn't have the chubbiness of many of the others. They're weaned after 3 weeks.

This one was having fun laying right in the middle of the pathway! I fancied trying a few B&W shots today. They were taken in colour but I've processed them in Lightroom.

We walked further south than yesterday. We eventually reached a roped off area blocking us from going any further. A peak across the dunes made the reason evident as there was a scattering of seals resting.

I'm sure the seal facing us had a massive grin on its face!

These two seemed to be quite happy having a Sunday morning cuddle...

...as opposed to these two having a bit of a Sunday morning argument!

Once again the colours were rather fantastic. The youngest was doing her best to avoid the cold but unfortunately a few more layers would have been useful.
