Taken from my ongoing flower series: Inflorescence
A series focusing on concepts of vulnerability, fertility, femininity and the meeting of natural human and plant forms.
For this one we used the iconic Jacaranda blossom, a purple or white flower that grows on trees in Pretoria and Johannesburg. The flowers are so plentiful that the entire tree's foliage can appear purple with very little visible leaves. The trees are planted alongside many roads of the cities causing them to be blanketed in colour during the blooming season.
