📷 Moon Valley, Chile

Moon Valley (or Valle de la Luna) is located in the Atacama desert in the northern part of Chile. The northern and central part of the country are not very popular among foreign tourists, usually they are overshadowed by the southern part — Patagonia, for the sake of which many people travels both to Chile and Argentina.

Yes, there are high mountains with snow peaks, beautiful lakes and glaciers in Patagonia. Everything around has the rich blue-green-white gamut, which immediately brings a feeling of coolness from the mountains, the taste of pure lazy water, and in general — these places are a paradise for romantics. I was there, and I want more.

But the desert also has its advantages and attractions, it would be unfair to deprive it of your attention. Atacama region is truly the pearl of the country, with its sands, reddish-brown earth, many volcanoes and severe desert, as if unearthly views.

The desert has its own shades of color — yellow-orange-brown gamut, from which you immediately get a feeling of the hot sun, scorching heat, thirst, and in the evenings, on the contrary, of blessed coolness or even completely serious cold, as well as a strict, simple and harsh life.

And there is enough infrastructure (housing, transport) in the town of San Pedro de Atacama to receive, though not a gigantic, but quite large number of tourists, and this town is an excellent base for excursions in the surrounding area.

I do not regret at all that I have been there and perhaps one day I will also return there again, especially to enjoy again the unearthly views of this and other valleys.

Some more photos from the Moon Valley you can see here and here. And I think I have even some more for the future :)

It's better to watch the photos in high resolution.
