Mitological Beings as Myths

As a myth, mythological creatures are believed to be truly existing creatures by the mythologists concerned. The mythological creatures associated with the folklore of a nation, appearing in folklore, artwork (statues, decorations, dances, etc.), and so on. For example, oni creatures in Japanese mythology, contained in folklore (Issun-Bōshi), paintings, performances (mask noh), and local festivals (Setsubun).
