Just wanted to share how the life is like in Finland at the winter period.
When the winter arrives, approximately in November days are getting shorter and most of the time sun is up at around 10 AM and it gets dark around 4 PM. That is really tough time mentally because people are studying or working and don't have time off to be outside. So imagine, it's like living in the cold darkness for couple months, not the best time out here.
However, since the beginning of February sun is coming back and days feel more enjoyable. People go for the walks on ice and go cross-country skiing. The pictures below are taken from the Eastern Finland region, on the lake Saimaa.
