I bought a macro lens (Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens) the winter of 2015. Over the course of the next couple of years, I started to take a lot of interest in using it for spiders and insects. The small world around us holds many wonders. I also use it for ornament photography during my volunteer sessions at the local Festival of Trees (I'll be making a post that has to do specifically with the Festival in the future.)
A bold jumping spider that was hanging out on my deck.
A honey bee from Nixon Honey at the hives that are housed at my parents acreage.
A bold jumping spider that was hanging out in my garage for the winter. I still love how much detail you can see in the paper towel it is sitting on.
At the back door of my old house, I always had at least one spider make a web there for the summer. They were always very large by the end of the season, as they usually camped out next to the back door lamp.
