This extraordinary vegetable garden is located in the Lacroix Laval estate, a huge 115-hectare park located in western Lyon.
The vegetable garden opened its doors to the public in 2012 after extensive work based on old documents, to best restore the layout of the first vegetable garden established on the estate in 1920 by landscape gardeners Achille Duchesne and Joseph Linossier. At that time, the vegetable garden, which was essential to the life of chestnuts, was organised in three areas: the "florist" part, intended for decorating living rooms, the vegetable garden for consuming vegetables, and the "bush" garden for fruit. Based on found plans, the current vegetable garden presents an organization that has remained as close as possible to the historical model, but with improved traffic flow to make it easier to welcome the public.

Ce potager extraordinaire se trouve dans le domaine de Lacroix Laval, un immense parc de 115 hectares situé dans l'Ouest Lyonnais.
Le potager a ouvert ses portes au public en 2012 après d'importants travaux réalisés à partir de documents anciens, pour restituer au mieux le tracé du premier potager implanté sur le domaine en 1920 par les paysagistes Achille Duchesne et Joseph Linossier. A cette époque, le potager, jardin indispensable à la vie des châtelains, était organisé en trois espaces : la partie "fleuriste", destinée à la décoration des salons, le potager pour la consommation des légumes, et le jardin "buissonier" pour les fruits. A partir de plans retrouvés, l'actuel potager présente une organisation restée au plus près du modèle historique, avec cependant une circulation améliorée pour faciliter l'accueil du public.
