Walking in Reeth North Yorkshire

We walked in Reeth North Yorkshire Dales yesterday and it was absolutely lovely.

The weather was about 18c and so sunny.

Reeth has always been a favourite of our for many years.

Our walk takes us along the river. Hope you enjoy.

Reeth is situated at the meeting point of the two most northerly of the Yorkshire Dales: Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.
In Saxon times, Reeth was only a settlement on the forest edge, but by the time of the Norman Conquest it had grown sufficiently in importance to be noted in the Doomsday Book.

The village is overlooked by the fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill.

Reeth has a resident population of less than a 1000 people which can more than double in the busy tourist season.
