THE GREAT SWEET-SOUR EXPERIENCE

Walking through life as a single is fun. You wake whenever you want to, do things at the appropriate time and within the stipulated time frame. But imagine having a meeting at 10am and starting your preparation by 10pm the previous day working it through till the next morning and still being late for your meeting, well that could be the life of a mother of two!

Being a mother of children, you need to plan your daily activities and create space for last minute change of plans and for unplanned eventualities in order to meet up with the standard you want to maintain for yourself.

You wake well ahead of others to prepare breakfast, tidy the house, get your children ready and well fed as well as getting ready yourself. This helps you avoid being late to work and meetings as much as possible.

You carry baby essentials (diapers, wipes, ointment, hand sanitizer, powder, oil etc) to ensure your children are adequately taken care of while you're away from home.

The joy, gladness, laughter, fun and excitement you derive from your children, to me, makes up for the everyday tough experiences, even as you are helping them create great childhood memories that will forever remain in their minds.

As a mother, I try as much as possible to put my children first without lagging behind in my life expectations and goals.

It is wonderful being a mother and watching your children do new things in their life like learning to sit, taking their first step, saying their first word amongst other things.

Being a mother does not mean your life is over, it just means you are beginning to unfold some hidden strength and learning new things about yourself that you didn't know you were capable of.
