EXTREME Pogo Sticking, Yep It's a Thing

When I first met a traveller in a hostel dormitory in Northern Europe, he handed me a beer and I asked him what he did for a living.

'Well...', he said.. 'let me show you a video..'

Before then, I had no idea pogo sticking was even a thing, yet alone an extreme sport. Turns out it's called Xpogo and they have an insane pro team.

These guys have performed crazy tricks on the Ellen show, taught Neil Patrick Harris to do a backflip on a pogo stick on Best Time Ever, performed countless NBA half time shows, been on Italy's Got Talent, Top Gear Live and a number of huge commercials around the world.

I've been lucky enough to follow some of their shows over the summer and they go hard at intense tricks and combos. And with that, I've definitely seen some big falls! This sport ain't easy!

The pros ride air pressurized pogo sticks that are pumped up using a bike pump, and can generally jump up to about 10ft in the air. They also have a huge amount of Guinness World Records under their belts, such as highest jump (11ft 1/2in) and most backflips in a row (18).

Seeing the photos and videos are cool, but seeing it in real life, right in front of you really takes it up a notch.

Hope you enjoy, and be sure to keep an eye out for the pro team in your part of the world.
Eleanor :)
