I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay. There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here mainly because I find them an interesting way to look back at the past.
I don't know a whole lot about the ultimate origins of this batch of slides other than they came from Goodwill. Like previous batches, these too often have a date stamped on them that I assume indicates when the film was developed and should in most cases give approximate dating for the photograph itself. So far these photos seem to mostly come from a European (or at least France and Italy)vacation, at least from the photos I've been able to identify so far.
All of the photos in this set were processed in August 1970. Google images once again came to the rescue in helping me to identify where the first one was taken. It was taken at a place called Pinocchio Park in Tuscany, Italy. There was a photo in a previous set with a sign pointing the way to the park.
Google images also helped with the second one. The building on the hill is a villa and gardens near Pinocchio park.
Given the Pinocchio themed merchandise, I have to believe that the third photo is some kind of gift shop that is part of Pinocchio Park.
I'm not as sure about the last photo. It appears to be inside a building in which construction is ongoing. Given the Pinocchio theme of the previous images I'm inclined to believe that this is in the same place. Perhaps this is or is going to be the workshop in which Pinocchio was created.
