I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay. There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here mainly because I find them an interesting way to look back at the past.
I don't know a whole lot about the ultimate origins of this batch of slides other than they came from Goodwill. Like previous batches, these too often have a date stamped on them that I assume indicates when the film was developed and should in most cases give approximate dating for the photograph itself. So far these photos seem to mostly come from a European (or at least France and Italy)vacation, at least from the photos I've been able to identify so far.
The first three photos were all processed in August 1970. I'm reasonably certain they were all taken in Italy.
The first shows a sign that says "Parco Monumentale Di Pinocchio". Apparently, there is a Pinocchio park in Italy.
The second photo appears to be a close-up of the statue of David.
The third photo also appears to be a statue of David, probably the full-sized replica that occupies the spot in front of the Palazzo Vecchio where the original once stood before being moved out of the weather.
The last photo is undated but was probably also taken some time in the late 1960s or early 1970s. It shows an arched doorway and a scenic view beyond. This was likely also taken in Italy or possibly France.
