Largemouth bass are one of the most sought after freshwater gamefish that Florida has to offer, and my brother pulled in a massive one a few months ago!
We were fishing in the Hillsborough River on our kayaks and my brother hooked a big one! Watching him fight to get in the massive fish was both thrilling and nerve racking because I know how much it sucks to lose a big one!
Well he finally pulled it in and we filled up a large cooler with water to keep it alive, and took it home with us. We weighed it and then put it a friend’s large spring-fed pond up the street so we could have another chance at pulling her in later on after she’s grown a few more pounds!
My brother cleans a mess of fish sometimes when we go bass fishing but we always let the big ones go to help keep the fish population up and to give us or someone else another chance to catch a lunker later on it life!
