Cool mind.

They say that our heart should be hot and our mind should be cold... I wonder how to combine this so as not to tip the scales in one direction or the other.

On the one hand a little warmth in our thoughts won’t hurt but we really don’t want to feel cold in our hearts.

I wonder what happens to the heart and mind of a samurai who sits silently on the river bank waiting for the moment when the corpse of his enemy floats past him?

Probably such an expectation should cool both the heart and mind or rather it is only possible in such a state similar to anabeosis.

But when this miracle happens... will the samurai be indifferent to the fact that his expectations have been fulfilled and will he leave the river bank or will he wait until the next silhouette of the enemy appears on the surface of the stormy river?
