Like other insect species he is also one of the inhabitants of the earth that has unique characteristics like other animals. Each species must have different characteristics, as well as the shape and color they have.
This species is one of the animals permitted in Islam that has halal food laws which means the same as fish in the sea.

This means that his presence around the human environment is one of the good things, although sometimes he becomes an enemy of farmers in crop cultivation.
This is when viewed in terms of food, because the body contains good protein and it can be consumed. But lately its presence has become a disaster for human life. Because their presence is beyond capacity or they are present in very large numbers.

🦗 Attacking several countries in the world

At the end of 2019 ago, desert grasshoppers in groups attacked the West African country in very large numbers, they numbered around tens of millions of tails flying simultaneously to the location of agriculture, so that the atmosphere of the air looks very tense, because they are mostly black sky filled with millions grasshopper.

In the video of one user account uploaded to one of the media, it can be seen that the sky of the west African country was blackened by tens of millions of grasshoppers and made a loud noise so that the phenomenon was shocking to anyone who saw. Their presence in large numbers attacked the agricultural land of each community or ate every crop cultivated, making farmers fail to harvest this year.

Their presence in the region is not yet known the cause and there are no accurate reports about it.

But based on our country's experience, it has also been attacked by millions of locusts originating from natural forests, their presence at night when there are millions but not as much as the population that attacks other countries. From the results of research the government and insect researchers say that their presence because the host plants in natural forests have been lost due to the opening of new land and the cause of forest fires that often occur lately.

Last year, a large number of locusts attacked rice, soybean, and other crops that were being cultivated by farmers. So that the local government intervened in managing and neutralizing the situation.

🦗 The cause of the attack occurred

As stated above that there are various causes of attack, one of the causes is food loss. In general, grasshopper food is green leaves that grow in every wild land, both in natural forests or in population areas. So when the food is gone or the host plants disappear, it will move the location to a place with lots of green plants.

The second cause also occurs when residential locations have become extinct, such as illegal burning or deforestation carried out by anyone who is not responsible, so that it can automatically remove the nest. When the nest becomes extinct, it will move to a new location, in general they will move to a large number of residents.
