Badshahi Mosque

I decided to study Lahore history and architecture as an allied subject for my third semester. To understand various architectural terms and instruments, we went to the Badshahi Masjid present in the heart of Lahore. The grandness of the mosque lies in its ambiance, how the domes and the towers kiss the sky and depict a picturesque display of eminence. It made me think of how during the Mughal era, this place would have had a completely different purpose and value. It makes me wonder how architecture is a strange agency to preserve ideas and emotions of history and its people. One day, the remnants of our times will be architecture of the past too.
