Place of Russian military glory

The battle of 1812 on the Borodino field brought fame to this place. Here was given the general battle of the French army. Napoleon vs Kutuzov. But not only this event is known for this field. In 1941 there were terrible battles here. But again the soldiers defended the Russian land! I visited this field in our time of peace. It has been more than 60 years since the military events. But this place still has the smell of war.
