###Vanilla is not native to Indonesia but comes from Mexico. Initially the first plant is known by the Aztec people in the period before the American continent found, namely as a plant that can be made from the fruit of a kind of perfume for fragrances of chocolate.

###Vanilla flower parts are arranged so that only in the original country (Mexico) alone can occur pollination naturally, with the help of Melekono bee insects. However, the fruits that occur as a result of natural pollination and even then only slightly, ie 1%.

Unable to bear fruit naturally, Vanilla could not breed when in 1510 the plant was introduced in Europe. Methods of vegetative propagation by using stem / branch cuttings as it is commonly done in developing vanilla breed, not known at the time. Attempt to bring bees do not even bring results, because the insects were not able to live there.

In 1836 CHARLES MORREN succeeded in producing vanilla by means of artificial pollination (hand polination). This new discovery was later revised by NEUMAN in 1838, and which until now has been accomplished is the result of improvements made by EDMUND ALESIUS in 1841.

Vanilla was imported in Indonesia for the first time in 1819 and was grown on a massive scale in about 1850, after known artificial pollination methods.

After pollination can be easily done by humans and the breeding can be done vegetatively, then the vanilla plant grows rapidly in tropical areas. Especially after it was discovered that the plant was profitable for his fans. Due to the high demand for vanilla in the world market, the area of cultivation is increasingly expanded and multiplied
