Bombo Quarry

It seems amazing that from the point of view of Earth, life has only existed for about 4 billion years and the universe existed for nearly 10 billion years before that!

Over the course of 10 billion years existence went unnoticed. Was life an inevitable outcome of the laws that govern our universe? Or is existence itself somehow trying to determine the meaning to its own creation. Sometimes it is easy to simply say that some higher power such as a deity is responsible for all this. But how is that more spiritual and magical than being part of pure existence in its quest for knowledge and self discovery?

Billions of years ago on a tiny insignificant speck of clumped together matter, life formed. From water and light we are the present form of self awareness hurtling through time in an endless endeavour to answer one little question.
Why do we exist?

Here is a shot of Bombo Quarry in NSW, Australia. A popular spot for photographers and Instagrammers alike. The power of the water here is palpable as it's ferocity is both hypnotically calming and curiously exciting. The rock stacks are about 10-15 metres high from sea level and the crashing of the waves often sends water many metres above and over them.
The danger the water swell here represents cannot be underestimated as rouge waves can arrive in an instant and sweep unsuspecting visitors off their feet and into the chaos below.
