HALfunction - or taking my bokeh for a spin in the washing machine...

Aimless wanderings with a few lights and flash stands with a modified Helios 44 lens to create the wild bokeh effect

Here I've used a www.lightpaintingbrushes.com black fibre optic brush and aimed the modified Helios 44 lens at it until I got the desired effect. First I exposed for the bokeh then replaced the lens cap without ending the exposure. I then changed the colour of the bokeh to red using a LED Lenser P7QC quad colour torch. I then removed the lens cap and spun the camera on it's lens axis using a camera rotation device. Job done.

This image was created in one photographic exposure and is not a Photoshop creation. The camera used was a Sony A7 full frame camera with a Helios 44 lens. The modification on the lens consists of removing the front element and turning it 180 degrees causing this unique distorted bokeh. I've since broken the lens and need a new one!

About me: I specialise in shooting lightpainting images all in one photographic exposure which involves different elements with different lenses and tripods.
