Why are some people such a great leaders and others not?

According to the American scientist Warren Bennis

"Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality."

Throughout history, we have seen many examples that confirm this sentence. A good and strong leader can bring a positive change to the team even under the most extreme conditions. Team leadership is not a simple matter, so do not forget the few aspects that distinguish individuals as great leaders.

1. They are constantly trying to improve and learn Instead of deterioration under the pressure of difficult tasks or exercises, the good leaders have tendency to get better. Statistics show that up to 70% of leaders have learned their life lessons during the most difficult tasks and unexpected work changes.

2. Fear of failure is what drives them forward
Fear of failure is controversial psychological state, even though it is often misunderstood. If this fear takes over, it can greatly influence your decision-making. The real leaders use it to achieve future success. This fear may become very powerful motivational tool, which has the potential to help people improve their effort. Great leaders are able to use this aspect in practice, perhaps after a lost business battle or when their expectations are not met.

3. They are determined and focused
When leaders go through a tough times, they might rely on their determination and focus. Enthusiasm is a great motivation to continue running over obstacles. Enthusiasm is also authentic and infectious, in the sense of encouraging others to share your vision and goal with you.

4. They gain trust of the people around them
Despite all the pitfalls that leadership involves, a successful leadership has nothing to do with social status or titles before and after the name. Instead, the whole process is driven by the ability to gain trust of those around you, whether it is through sincere communication or a physical example. If you are able to achieve this, then you can influence others and increase their potential.

5. They communicate openly and with modesty
Leadership is very serious topic and even the pest leaders throughout the history always had keen sense of humor. For example British Prime Minister Winston Churchill,  his humorous quotes are legendary and known even by today's generations. Humor is especially important, as it shows modesty and sense for self-depreciation, which eliminates their social status. This is also an entry into open and honest relationship, where the great leaders are able of speaking authoritatively and listen to others’ needs at the same time.
